Met Some Ladies

Hello: I'm just guessing this would be a life stage, for me at least. Today, I met another person from here and actually got a 2 for 1! The person I met, she actually met someone here about a year ago and invited her to join us. The first person I met was about 2 months ago now. This search for friends to enhance the lack of social life has been a long haul for years! Hope this turns out to be something long lasting, if I didn't scare any of them away that is! When reaching out to others seems like a rather 'easy' task to do, going from the computer to actually meeting them is another story entirely. KEEP PRESSING ON, in spite of the bummed results we may be getting from the hard times of meeting others. EMAIL anyone to become email buddies at least and like I've said before - who knows...you may just end up heading to your email pals' destination at some time and already know someone at the other end! EMAIL me if you want!

As a new member to this site, I was hoping to meet women in my area to get out of the house with, instead of spending more time at home on the computer(which is not my favorite thing to do I have to admit).I have sent out emails with still no responses and widen the search,but need to stay within driving distance. Maybe I need to be more patient,but I would not join a site if I didnt want to meet new people, you can never have too many friends in my opinion.

Hi everyone, I had emailed a few people and no response. I hadn't checked back in a while as it was disappointing not getting any mail and then low and behold I checked yesterday and I got one!! I live in NH/VT area so I am not holding my breath that I will get a lot of locals but email buddies are good too and you can always go visit which is a goal of mine for the next half of my life..see the world!!

I too had to widen my search parameters. My locating ladies semi local worked - it seems though either we did not 'click' or life is way busy for others. That's okay - was when I did decide to look further out. I also mentioned on here that I'd take email buddies too. I have made a simple fly-er stating about meeting friends, this site, and posted the web address - dropped off at the local school I used to work at and church. Not sure if anyone took notice and interests yet, but that's what I did to help gather more locals. One idea if you're going solo on a vacation or something...post your vacation idea and general area and see if anyone responds with interests in joining you (traveling from where they live to meet up).

Sorry, after posting what I wrote earlier, I realized that we are not all from the my area. I going to give this site another try and be MORE proactive in my search. For instance, logging into this site and doing a search and sending out emails instead of waiting for someone to send me one.

If there are those of us that are looking for friends and cannot connect, well, HELLO, why are we not connecting with each other. I had to widen my search base and found someone that is looking for a walking buddy. We do not live close to each other but hey, the Richmond area is not that big so ladies what do you say? Let's get together and go from there.

I hear you all. Every word. I have someone new to reply too (yes!) now. I got a nice response and then a family emergency came up and here we are, a week later and I am just getting back to this site. I just emailed a slew of ladies and waited. Perhaps all of us here, under this forum, can email one another to encourage and be friends that way. I also am trying the meetup site. That's tricky for me. Any who, PMA (positive mental attitude) :)

I too have emailed several like-minded people on this site and haven't gotten responses from them all. I joined this site over a year ago, forgot about it and was going through my "Favorites" on my computer one day and logged in. When I joined I used an email address that I keep for when I place orders or just know that I'll get a lot of junk mail from the site. I think maybe a lot of people might be doing that as well and that may be why we aren't getting responses. I have made contact with one member and we're actually meeting today for lunch. I'm looking forward to having a new friend in town. My problem is that all my friends have children and I do not. We just don't have a lot in common anymore and they have no time. I'm always going to birthday parties, etc. but seems like they can't take an evening away EVER to spend time with me and I've really come to resent it.

I was so happy to see mommyofthree say she just doesn't get this site. those were my feeling too. We have all signed up so we can meet others but when we reach out the others aren't responding. This week I decided to perservere and I have my first meet tomorrow. And yes, I do give myself credit for moving forward. so good luck to us all on socialJane!
